Does anyone know when the results of this Phase III clinical trial will be released?

http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/study/NCT01231607

They only compared .5mg to 5mg Finasteride in Phase II whereas here they directly compared .5mg to 1mg finasteride which is the same amount of Propecia. I´ve wondered if maybe 1mg finasteride works better than 5mg finasteride for hair, so perhaps this study will demonstrate that finasteride isn´t less effective than dutasteride after all.

Personal disclosure, I currently take Avodart.

what makes you think they would release their results at all? For all I care, they probably did that study for themselves to see if Avodart was worth marketing as a hair loss treatment...

btw: why did you switch to Avodart?

What on earth makes you think that 1 mg of finasteride would work better than 5 mg of finasteride? :)

Interesting study. I would have thought there wouldn't be any real difference between 1mg finasteride and 5mg finasteride and I was right. Still waiting for a year+ comparison study of dutasteride vs. finasteride. Some people have argued they are almost exactly equal in terms of strength, but dutasteride only works faster and plateaus earlier, making it look more effective in a short 6 month study, while in the long run it is possible they have the same results. Ill bump this up for people to see in 2014 as the trials are now available
