Hi,

I'm 26 and showing serious signs of hair loss after 5 years of thinning, It's very apparent on the back and thinning further down the base to the front of my head (the Crown area?). I have medium longish hair as of now and even though I try cover the thinnig It's getting to the point now where it's always visible and I look awful either way.

So I'm considering the shaving route. Not thrilled about it but seems to the best way to go approach it. What I would like find is a visual refference online which displays the results of each different lenghts of Clippers actually does. I see many sites that explain the Cllipper sizes but by numbers only.

So if anyone has a visual refference guide I would appreciate it.

I'm also very hesitant to apporach this but my hair is getting so long now that an appointment at the hair dressers is due... My fear is that as I am showing a strong sense of hair loss/thinning, if I were to cut my hair in this manner it will show off the hair loss even more! i have a bit of facial hair for compensation and don't really want to have to resort to glasses too but i do have self esteem issues around this which are really begining to debilitate me socially. So advice would be appreciated.

I have seen someone with a chrome dome reverse completely with dutasteride, although i wouldn't recommend it because it completely nukes all three types of 5 alpha reductase, rather than just type II which is the one associated with hairloss. See example here: https://www.hairlosstalk.com/intera...-days-in-on-big-3-23-using-dutasteride.95418/ He posts more pictures where it gets even better further in the thread.

Anyway as far as shaving your head goes, I recommend using the electric trimmer first and then using a regular good quality razor, the same that you'd use for your face. Gillette or whatever. The electric trimmer only shaves it down to a stubble but doesn't get the roots.

Also make sure to get a tan on your head and it looks a lot better, thicker neck muscles also helps to go along with it. Good luck sir
