Hey everyone,

I joined here about two months ago once I noticed my Rogaine foam beginning to work. I wanted to share my experiences here with all of you because I've been impressed with the results I've achieved (so far) from minoxidil.

- Been on Rogaine Foam 5% for 3 months

Recently I started noticing a tired feeling in my eyes and blurred vision. I'll be calling the doctor next week to get checked out as that makes the most sense. In the meantime, I'd like to open this thread to start some dialogue on the subject. While I've found threads on here about my issue, I haven't really read any remedies for dealing with this..

I'm very happy with the results so far and would definitely like to avoid dropping the product all together.

- I apply to a damn scalp (may re-evaluate this)
- I have been using product liberally (Now that it's working I've been scaling back)

Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks!

I got similar condition when I was applying the 1ML two times a day (liquid minoxidil). minoxidil seems to be tolerant and you can skip it a day or two and you won't lose your gains in case you want to test if it's from the minoxidil.

Thanks for the reply- I appreciate it.

I feel bad because I was so happy with the results that I recommended the product to my brother. Just disclosed how I'm feeling with him to keep him in "the know".

I think what I'm going to do is drop down to one application per day- being especially mindful to not use too much. To be honest, I have been using considerably more than is recommended- my thoughts were that I really wanted to ensure results. Now that I see results, I should scale back application/chill out a little.

Hoping to hear back from some success stories of cutting back the dose WHILE maintaining your growth.

Thanks in advance everyone.

I've never experienced vision problems with minoxidil, and I've tried all kinds and dosages of the stuff.
Currently on 5%, twice a day.
I have a theory on minoxidil side effects, it's not based on ANY facts, just my experience and thoughts: When I was just starting with minoxidil, sometimes when getting up too fast I'd get dizzy and "see stars", know what I'm talking about? like my brain didn't get enough oxygen.
Now, Minoxidil works by making your blood vessels larger or something, get more blood to your scalp to make your hairs stronger, it was first used for heart clogs, the story says.
I didn't want to give up the treatment, so I thought: bigger blood vessels? maybe I need more blood?! you know, to feel the gaps!
Unfortunately, getting blood can be pretty difficult, so I went with the cheaper and easier alternative: water.
I drink a lot of water, definitely more than any one of my work-friends, or regular friends. I always have a bottle room temperature with me that I constantly take sips from, even when I don't feel thirsty.
I haven't experienced any dizziness since.
Hope it will help you.

Also: I used to walk around with sunglasses on my hair, like the cool guys, and wear them over my eyes when I got out. I then noticed that I'm growing thin little hairs under my eyes! what??? it happened because the glasses would get some of the minoxidil on their frame, such little amounts that it was undetectable, it didn't get the frame wet or sticky or anything, but it was just enough to make me grow eye-hair! maybe you're getting it in your eyes without even noticing?
My facial hair is also getting a little too much "up north" because I like to sleep on my stomach with my face on the pillow, so I get dried minoxidil on my face.
The thing works even when dry, maybe it's getting in your eyes somehow, without you having a clue

I've been using the foam on my temples for the last 2,5-3 months and have also been experiencing blurred vision. Not gonna drop it though since my temple points are showing signs of thickening.

Again, thank you everyone for your replies.

I've been using the product very sparingly and don't seem to have lost any growth yet. I noticed a typo with my original post- I've been applying to a DAMP scalp after a shower..not a DAMN scalp, lol.

I'm now applying to dry hair. It's a bit of a pain getting it through the dry hair, but it'll be worth it if I can avoid the eye issues.

Thought:

Hot showers open up our pores- allowing for systemic absorption. Today I took my normal warm shower and turned the water cold for the last 30 seconds as a sort of shock to my body. The cold water closed my pours up- allowing me to put the medicine on my head still after the shower.. I didn't put minoxidil on today, but may try this tomorrow morning..

Has anyone else tried this approach? Thanks again!

Hey everyone,

I want to keep checking in here to keep everyone updated with my ongoing results.

So I've been using the Rogaine 5% foam extremely sparingly the last few weeks. I don't see any real noticeable decrease in hair counts- maybe slightly, but my balding crown is still covered considerably better than before beginning treatment at all. Soooo that's good!

I've noticed some success in terms of using cold water to finish the shower- logically, this seems to make sense as the cold water will close my pours. Today, however, I don't know if I applied the medication too close to getting out of shower or if my pours weren't fully closed, but I feel it in my eyes again.

Does anyone else dealing with this issue have a suggestion for how I can avoid the over-absorption while STILL applying to damp hair? My issue is that I do not like the look of my hair when I apply the medicine to a dry scalp.

Maybe I can wet my hair briefly with cold water...NOT allowing my pours to open and then towel dry and apply medicine...

Just a thought..

Pores don't close or open, they may be cleaned and appear "open" to the naked eye because you don't see the dirt anymore and assume they're open.
