how do I know if its a shed or its just the male pattern baldness taking its tole ?

You don't, you just have to wait and see, if it's a shed the hairs should eventually grow back stronger, it might just maintain your hair or slow the hairloss down so if you're looking for serious improvements fast you should look into adding minoxidil to your regime although as I said earlier you should wait til you know how beneficial the finasteride is to you first if you have the patience.

It has been bugging me a lot lately and I just went through jaymans photos of when he buzzed his hair and it kind of made me want to just do the same so I can temporarily forget about my hair. From the pics I have posted do you think it would very plainly show my diffused thinning if I were to buz it real low?

You hairline looks good to me. A bit of temple recession but very small holes still. Looks like your front hairline moved back 1/4 inch and that's about it because there is a few hairs from where the old hairline used to be.

Did you say you needed advice on Nizoral. There is nothing to say you have to use it to get the synergistic effects of multiple treatments.

Other than that I think you can style it however you want with just a basic wet gel being the worst option. You said you use pomade. Well it does not have to go spiked or all the way down like you said.

Just give it some texture. Mess it up. But if you spike it it also depends on what you do with the rest. You can spike it but the front does not look super good when it's all flat and uniform on you from what I can tell.
