RegenePure Spray (5%) and RegenePure Essentials

Hey all,

I've been on Finasteride (1mg) for about 10 months now. It's been going good.

I figured its time to incorporate other things. I started the RegenePure Minoxidil Spray (5% with PPG) yesterday. I also ordered RegenePure Essentials. I think I might wait on the DR and NT shampoos. I have Clobetasol Propionate shampoo which fights against irritation on my scalp.

I guess my question regards the "Essentials":

Can I take RegenePure Essentials if I'm also taking 1mg of Finasteride daily? I know RegenePure Essentials has Saw Palmetto in it and other anti-DHT ingredients and so I'm wondering if it will interact in a harmful way, such as increased risk of sexual effects or anything else.

Also, I know that the Essentials helpfulness in fighting hair loss will be minimal at best. Figured I would take it anyway.

Just want to see if there's anything I need to know or watch out for before I start. Directions say to take 3 capsules a day.

Here are the ingredients: Regenepure Essentials Advanced Hair Loss Formula with Biotin (per capsule): Biotin, Vitamin B-1 (as Thiamin Mononitrate), Vitamin B-2 (as Riboflavin), Vitamin B-3 (as Niacinamide), Vitamin B-6 (as Pyridoxine HCI), Vitamin B-9 (as Folic Acid), Vitamin B-12 (as Cyanocobalamin) Iron (as Amino Acid Chelate), Zinc (as Citrate), Saw Palmetto Extract (45-55%), Fo-Ti Root Powder, Methyl Sulfonyl Methane (MSM), Ceramide-PCD, Turmeric Extract (95%), Soy Isoflavones (1%), Apple Extract Polyphenols, Nettles Extract (10:1), Horsetail Extract (7% Silica), Pygeum Africanum (2.5% S/E), L-Cysteine HCL Mono, L-Valine, L-Leucine-Micronized, L-Isoleucine, L-Arginine Vase, L-Lysine Fine Powder (Pwd only), L-Proline, L-Glutamine, L-Methionine, L-Tyrosine.

Thanks guys!

I honestly don't think any of that stuff matters unless you have the money to expand on a bigger stack.

All that rely matters is taking finasteride to be precise.

Like Shookwun said, unless you have the cash to expand I would stick to the basics.
Finasteride is the cake, everything else are the sprinkles and decorations.
If you have the cash I'm sure it won't hurt to add it

Right, I got that. I have the cash to afford it. It seems like it can't hurt then, based on what y'all are saying. I know the help is minimal.

I don't really shed any hairs during the day (maybe a couple fall out if I play with my hair a bunch). I basically just lose some in the shower. So, I just wanna make sure the reaction of the ingredients in the pill won't mess with finasteride and vice versa. That's all I'm asking 'cuz so far finasteride has worked well.

Basically, I just want to keep maintaining, and hopefully regrow some hair in certain areas and, if there's ANYTHING out there, to get rid of this random scalp irritation/itchiness I get throughout the day sometimes (especially at night). I just started Minoxidil yesterday so I know it's not that. I've always had it. The Minoxidil so far hasn't seemed to make it any better/worse thus far (but I know it's far too early to see what reaction I'd get after just two applications).

With respect to the scalp itch, I bought RegenePure DR to potentially help my scalp itch and I took it for about a week or so daily and got a massive shed and my head was extremely itchy. Turns out I had folliculitis. Horrible time in my life. I was also studying for the Bar exam so I think it was just coincidence (as in I was already getting folliculitis and/or Telogen Effluvium due to heavy stress). Either way, I don't remember it helping my itch at all though. Then again, I stopped after maybe 10 days max (daily usage).

Not sure either way with that one but I'm too scared to try RegenePure DR for a while now. I do get some random scalp itch and tender spots in areas of primary thinning. I also get itchiness (but no tenderness) behind my ears and in the bottom right and left corners of the very back of my head (like the place where you round or square the back), where it doesn't seem like I'm thinning at all (I also don't get any shedding there). The itch and tender spots always come back, even when I use my prescription shampoo (clobetasol propionate) and some other prescription medicine used to get rid of these small zit things on my scalp.

The scalp irritation is probably my biggest problem because even if I wear headphones, the area of scalp under the headphone band starts getting really itchy and irritated. To the point where I've know bought headphones that go around the back of my head.

Not sure what to do about this!

Man I had to deal with that tingly, itchy, scalp irritation for almost 2.5 years; I completely understand.
When I was studying for my MCAT it got a lot worse, and around finals it tends to act up a lot too.
Once I started taking legitimate Proscar it just went away. What could be happening is just a localized inflammatory reaction to some of the ingredients in the minoxidil (I.e., PPG) as many users report experience scalp irritation. You could try using a PPG-free version of minoxidil and see if that helps

Hey Digi,

The thing is, I just started Minoxidil yesterday. And I've had the same scalp irritation/itch/tingle wayy before then. The minoxidil hasn't seemed to make it any worse, but I've only applied Minoxidil twice so far.

That tingle is micro inflammation from DHT, this explains why you have been experiencing it prior to minoxidil treatment.
Are you taking any anti androgens?

The only thing I'm taking is Finasteride right now. See my post above regarding my experience with RegenePure DR (it's the fourth post down).

Besides that, nothing. I'm getting on this Minoxidil and Essentials thing but that's it.

If you have any other suggestions, please let me know!

PS: I've also noticed that right now, the itch is definitely localized to where I put Minoxidil on last night. The thing is, is this necessarily a bad thing hairloss wise? I don't mind the discomfort if it'll help me grow back hair. Or will the inflammation cancel out the hair benefits (or actually just make it worse)?

The thing is, I can only apply these topical things at night. During the day, it will just make my hair look like an absolute unrecoverable mess and I need to look good for my job.

So, following Dr. Bernstein's advice (from his website), he says if you want to just apply it at night, take double the dose and use PPG because it absorbs into your scalp better (especially since I'll be applying to dry scalp). He says that you might get irritation but that isn't really that big of an issue for me if treatments work, you know?

Anyways, any advice is helpful!
