Been on generic finasteride 1.25 mg a day for two plus years. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any temple regrowth on my receding hairline, haven't experience any noticeable shedding nor have had any side effects. I do think being on finasteride daily has slowed down my hair loss. I have read that after a year or two on finasteride, your body builds up a tolerance and reducing finasteride to as low as .5 mg per day can still be helpful.

Instead of taking 1.25 mg every 24 hours, would it be okay to take 1.25 mg every 36 hours?

Finasteride is measured to be a slow drug in its effect on the blood, and a lot of people take it once every second day.

I don't know of measurements of how fast it acts on the skin.

Seems like it'd be a bit of a pain to keep track of what time you're supposed to take it each day
