receding hairline help!

Hey guys, I had a juvenile hairline at 17, then I took accutane and basically turned my hairline into a NW2 and it never grew back. My father is bald so I'm guessing I have the male pattern baldness gene.

I'm 20 now and about to turn 21 soon. Recently, the corners of my hairline have been thinning and receding so badly these past 3 months and especially these past few weeks. So now I'm almost a NW3. The left side is worse than the right though. I'm so stressed out right now.

I plan on going on the Big 3 (finesteride, minoxidil, Nizoral). I'll buy the minoxidil and nizoral this week and go to the doctor for finesteride prescription.

I've been reading so much material online. I know some people have had success with hairline growth and others have actually lost more hair on the hairline.

I guess I'll still ask this stupid question. If you're reading this... has you had regrowth on your hairline from taking any of the big 3?

I feel like crap. I haven't been outside in over a week. I just need some hope.

Funny I was on accutane when I was a kid and think my loss is from that as I have only 1 bald uncle in my entire family.

If I where you I would take it slow. Post up some pics so people here can see how bad you really are and give some advise.

But don't get down to much and become a hermit. It's really not worth it and you will regret it even more later that you let this beat you.

My scalp is really itchy too. Will Nizoral help? I plan on doing something now. This is depressing me and it's only getting worse.

My scalp got itchy the year I turned 20 and continued on and off until I was on finasteride for 3 months. I've been on it for 7 months now (and I'm 22) and my hair loss seems to have stopped. I think I am having success with it + minoxidil.

Your first two pics aren't showing up anymore. But I did see them, and yes it does look like some diffuse thinning. But it's really not that bad, plus your hairline is still pretty strong.

If your on finasteride and min and your not getting sides I would say your doing good. Just keep track and stay up on current products. Plus start looking into potential preventions and what you can do if you get sides.

But in all honesty your not that bad at all right now, and no matter how bad it gets if it even does don't let it ruin your life. Life is to short to let hairloss beat you. Your friends and family don't care what you look like and most likely prefer to have you around.

Well, I'm feeling a bit better now after the initial shock of my hair. Lost a lot recently and it was just like... wow :sobbing:. I've read a few success stories and I'm optimistic. I'll be ordering Finscar tomorrow from InHouse and buying Minoxidil and Nizoral 1% from Walgreens. Life is long, so I'd rather be happy than miserable. :punk:

As far as hairline regrowth, don't expect anything and take what you can get. After 20 months on finasteride I did see some regrowth on my hairline, but at the same time I also saw some hair lost. Take pictures.

Thanks, I'll try not to expect so much. I know it takes time but yeah, I have images in my head of a full blown head of hair in the summer already.

Do you think the thinning hair will become thicker? Where did you get your finasteride?
