Realistic Expectations?

According to Wikipedia (and people around this forum seem to agree), a study reveals that Propecia did the trick (experienced visible results) for 90% of users after taking it for 5 years. A separate study showed it worked for 83% of men in less than that. If I'm in the lucky 83%, does that mean I will likely maintain my hair as long as I continue taking Propecia for life?

No one really knows because each case is different. Some guys started taking finasteride at 25 years old at a NW2 and still have that NW2.

Still, some guys report starting taking finasteride at NW3 or more and still lose hair. I think it really just depends on how aggressive your hair loss is.

Dutasteride always exists if finasteride isn't working.

finsighter reply: If the effect of Propecia is that only 30% of DHT still exists and causes shedding, then why would it ever cause regrowth? I must be misinterpreting something.

wessneijder reply (although feedback is welcome from everyone of course): I am in a beginning stage. My hair is thinned at the receding hairline spots. If I push other hair over then the thinning is hidden. (Although, it's not really possible to maintain it being pushed over if it's windy or something.) Does this mean I have a better chance of Propecia doing more for me?
Hopefully I can afford hair multiplication when it comes out. That would be a dream come true. You know, use Propecia for a couple years and maintain what I have until there's a permanent solution...

PS. I wouldn't hold my breath for Hair Multiplication.

Why is that? Is there reason to be skeptical that it will be offered in, say, 2-3 years? Aren't there trials for hair multiplication going on (right now) at TKL?
