Hi all,

A quick background

28yo male with Norwood 4 diffuse. Started losing hair at the age of 19.

In 2004 started Rogaine 5% and used for a year with mess. Had good regrowth but could not keep up the regimen. Side effects including puffy face and increased blood pressure. Quit. Lost a lot of hair in early 2005 after quitting. :sobbing:

Switched to Finasteride 1.25 and used 2 years. Amazing recovery. Almost got a full head of hair using toppik. Terrible side effects, lost the ability to keep up erections, less ejaculation, low sex drive, brain fog, swollen breasts. Quit. Still all the sides not gone. :sobbing: :sobbing:

Now after using 3 yrs of using only Toppik and Nizoral, I am Norwood 4. But its just terrible in outdoors under Sun.

So I have decided to go for hair transplant. I am in Sydney, Australia.

Some questions:

1. How much does it cost to have FUE in Sydney/Australia ie around 3000 grafts to restore frontal, temporal area with good density.
2. I am planning to see some hair transplant specialists in SYdney soon, what questions should I ask them.
3. Any recommendations on getting it done in places like India where its very cheap?
4. How much time would I need off work so that no one notices my scars post transplant?
5. Do I still need to take propecia post hair transplant as I cannot tolerate that medicine.

Thanks for your help guys. :)

to avoid further hairloss its recommended to take fina....
but if you go for a hair transplant without fina, then you just must know that theres a chanse that you hair keeps falling out over time (speaking over the original hairs you still have on top , the hair transplant-hair will not fall out... )

fue is the best way to go , if you want to avoid a big scar on the back of your head... so if needed you can still shave it all of or buzz it down without the risk of anyone looking at a scar...

it all depends how much your hair transplant budget is
i payed 5750 euro for my 2500 fue , so that in dollar = 7695 us dollar

look good in forums for patientresults before you go in for a hair transplant with a clinic...

Thanks for the reply WesleyBelgium. All the info I have got so far regarding hair transplant does not say that Propecia is necessary to retain transplanted hair. Yea to halt further loss, it is recommended or Rogaine.

Any suggestions how long does it take to recover? How much time do i need to take off from work. I cant face the world with scars all over my head, swollen face. :(

2 weeks is good.... (scabs will be all gone , i would advice FUE...)
on the hair transplant-zone the skin can be red for some weeks , that you cant avoid

for swellings after hair transplant's theres cortisone-pills , or the natural way : buy curcumin pills (95 % extract) prefferd with black pepper in it for better absorbion in the body , dose : 2000 - 2500 a day , so thats multiple pills over the day , this acts like cortisone without any side-effects ....
buy before the hair transplant , and start taking them from the day the hair transplant is done....

don't even think about getting an hair transplant, unless you can commit to taking Finasteride (Propecia or Proscar).

I'm sorry if this is a little off topic, but I read this often but never realized one thing: when you are using Proscar to keep your hair, it stops working after some time, but when you use it for hair transplant hair it doesn't? That's my conclusion from your post.

I will go for multiple hair transplants and might use Hairmax laser comb for maintenance.

Lol seeing as lazermax does absolutley nothing thats a bad idea if you want I can sell you a baldness defying talisman that will be just as effective. :woot:

I researched and found this website which says its technology is better than even FUE :woot:

Anyone can shed any light?

Terrible clinic, terrible results their implanter device damages the grafts causing a very very low growth yeild. Also all those other claims are also bullshit. :thumbdown2:
