Hi,
I was just wondering, if you think you have AA, what is the likely hood that you will go completely bald? I'm being told it's rare but it seems like everywhere on the internet has gone that way or almost with their condition? I'm really scared about this, can someone help me out. I'm a 37 year old woman with a bald patch on the right side of my temple, patches on ny neck line and now I'm diffusing around the ears and sides of the head. I do have small hairs that I thought were "!" hairs, but I had a hair restoration Doctor. tell me that he wasn't sold on the fact that these were those kind of hairs. He thought I might have Telogen Effluvium and maybe not AA. I'm going to a derm. tomorrow and yes, I did get blood tests, they were all fine. My primary Doctor. said that my thyroid was a tiny bit high, but not enough for meds., now I'm having panic attacks, cant eat, and do not know what to expect. The restoration Doctor. told me to use Rogaine 5% and maybe a laser brush on my hair for 6 months and see how it goes. I feel so alone and depressed. My hair looks ok now, I can cover the patches and it looks very dry and brittle, but I'm scared to death that I will loose it all. How common is this? Or is there a good chance that it will get better with or without treatment over time? I know no one has the magic answer, but I would like to hear from someone that might have an experience to share. Is there hope at all? Thanks.

I've never seen a completely bald woman due to natural hair loss.

If you're hair loss is in patches and not in any noticable pattern, that doesn't sound like AA. Panic attacks may mean stress is causing your hair loss.

Save your money on the laser comb. They don't do anything.

Well, I only had my first anxiety a few days ago. My hair has been coming out for probably about 2 months now. If you have AA, does the patterns need to be more like in order for it to be AA? I'm still not sure either way what I have. Going to the derm. this morning. Maybe I will get more answers there. Thanks.
