OK, we've all read movie reviews yes? Let's do the same for treatments we've USED. Do not rate a treatment based on what you think it will do. Rate a treatment on what it's done for you.

Four stars is best and 1 star is the worst. It's Ebert and Roeper time. Here are the treatments to rate:

Finasteride (specify dose with rating)-
Dutasteride (specify dose with rating)-
5% minoxidil-
Higher strength Minoxidil (specify type with rating)-
Retin-a (specify type with rating)-
Tricomin-
Prox-N-
Folligen-
5% spironolactone cream-
Revivogen-
Fluridil-
17a Estradiol-
Proxiphen-
Other-

You included Nizoral under "other" but treatments like retin a and revivogen get their own category? Nizoral is part of the big 3 for chrissakes.

I don't really know enough about each to evaluate, but as for stuff I'm using:

Dutasteride: 4
Nizoral: 4
Nano: don't know yet. smells like a pool and feels nice on my scalp

Only because of it's ease of use. The "Big Three" are really the most effective easy to use regimen we have consisting of a pill, a topical and a shampoo. If it was the "Top 3" a copper peptide would surely be higher than nizoral.

Retin-a has favourable studies, both on it's own and with minoxidil, nizoral has a handful of studies showing it increases hair diameter or it's ability as an antiandrogen. The one everyone raves about, the one where it was shown to be roughly equivalent to 2% minoxidil, if memory serves was a very small study, and the 2% minoxidil was only applied once per day. Consider that minoxidil only works for about 60% of men at 5% twice a day, according to one study.

But revivogen, meh there's not much on that! Apart from the fatty acid DHT inhibition studies, though I haven't read them, just heard bits from Bryan.

Anyway ill give it a go, though i cant speak of results yet most likely as it's early.

Fluridil- 1. Not based on results, but just price and its awful alcoholic feel, and how you can't use it within 8 hours of anything else
Proxiphen-
Nizoral - 2. It's ok as a shampoo, though it dries out my hair. I used it alone for a long time while i was researching, and it was the time period in which I lost the most hair. I don't think it did anything alone, but then again i shouldn't have really expected it to.
5% spironolactone cream- i'm not sure if its doing much, but its cheap, and using it on my tihnning temples helps hide my recession. Plus it should help. So 3 it is.
Proxiphen - 3/4. I don't know if it justifies its price, but its so easy to use on a wet scalp, and it's at least slowing loss/maintaining hair. Its grown little hairs and a few thick ones, but i really have to compare pics before i comment on results.

Finasteride - 3 (good regrowth after 2 years, recently ordered some dutasteride however. The itch was coming back, and I saw some recession which I don't think was there before. Tough to say if Avodart is the right call though, but they say finasteride's effectiveness disappears over time, so I'm thinking why not. Anyhow, sides were minimal. I realized from this forum that the testicular ache I was feeling was not because of blue balls. But that has disappeared.)

Minoxidil - 3 (good regrowth, but had to quit because water retention made my face fat.)

Dr. Lee's 2% Ketoconazole shampoo - 2 (I don't know if this stuff works all that great, and if I use it too much it makes my hair stiff and dry, but it sounds like a good thing to use, and I am going to try and get it up to 3 times a week. Sunday - Tuesday - Friday - Sunday

Nano - No ranking (It does smell like a pool now that JayMan mentioned it, but I don't mind it. I really work that stuff in, I have alot of hopes for it, if not for the Nano, for the l-arginine. And I asked Dr. Proctor if it was l-arginine, and he said it was. On the ingredients it just says arginine.)

spironolactone - No ranking (Stuff is gunky, I never used it much. Won't be getting it again I don't think. May formulate my own spironolactone liquid.)

Tricomin - No ranking. (I plan on using vitamin C products on my face, and don't want to worry about it reaxting with copper. I will use SOD though. After reading about it recently, seems very important, especially if using l-arginine. As far as Tricomin went for smell and texture, it's good stuff. A user friendly topical.)
