Rate of regrowth?

So I'm seeing results but very slowly. My hairline hair that were thin and small and weak, some of them turned terminal and some are in the process of turning terminal and some are still thin but longer. I have been applying minoxidil for almost I think 8 months or so and maybe even more but its too slow. Most of the awesome results I see are withing 6 months. Am I doomed or does it work at this pace for others too? I am also taking the pill and keto shampoo too.

The best regrowth actually occurs around 2 years.

The people with crazy results early are most often people who lost hair very recently and were top percentile responders to minoxidil.

Consider seeing thickening of any kind at the hairline a huge success, for some people they only get slower rate of loss even on dutasteride. There is no cure for male pattern baldness.

In my experience you have a good time to look forward to. I can tell you what happened with me starting from almost bald NW5/6. I had hairloss for a good 20 years+ with aggressive hair loss in the last decade. My hair loss was diffuse, i.e. miniaturisation and further minitiarisation and further miniaturisation. I have been on Big3 for last 14 months with unimaginable results. I have literally got my life back from nothing. Something I never imagined could happen. Extremely lucky to be such a responder.

0-4 months, vellus on temples and crown, tiny hair on top but nothing major or noticable.
At about 6 months, temples on vellus, crown growing tiny hair, rest picking up that I could get a cm or so haircut. Also got people noticing.
10 months, temples still struggling with vellus but a few miniscule hair start showing up in between. Crown starting to fill up and 'the hole' shrinking. Top good noticable hair. I had a frame. Top hair still thinner and much slower growing than non male pattern baldness sides.
12-14 months, temples start showing more length but still majority miniature and non-cosmetic. Crown filling up nicely. Rest of top looks full ecept they are much thinner and slower growing than non male pattern baldness sides.

Now I am at 14 months and I have pretty much won the battle for top and crown. Its still getting denser, thicker and better every month. Temples is my last frontier and are now coming forward slowly and randomly.

To give you an idea, I shaved my head at 10 months so in last 4 months:

Non-male pattern baldness would have grown 2-4 inches
Top has grown about 1-1.5 inches
Temples have range from 1-2 mm to 0.5 inch

Hair thickness and density seems to be proportional to the rate of growth, so male pattern baldness top about half thick of normal, temples still v thin.
It is getting better everywhere every month.

Temples seem to grow randomly, i.e. some random patches will show hair and will grow outwards and forwards. Think about how the patch looks in the first few days and weeks after you throw grass seeds.

Thats great, I wonder if we could get a full head of hair back if we keep on using treatments for years?

Thanks this is exactly what's happening to me. This makes me feel better. The bald spot is filling in albeit slowly. As of right when I part my hair at the bald spot it's like a thin line. The line is very noticeable and show balding but it's not as bad as it used to be. Before it was round no matter what I did. Parting seems to hide the thinning making it look like an odd line of hair loss rather than a circle. I believe circle look is worse than out of the ordinary line look. My friends seem to think the same. Also my hair would fall flat on the top of my head when I tried to style them with just water and no product but now they can hold on their own. Frontal and crown still needs a little product to look thicker.

I have my own thread with pictures but I buzzed my hair again so new pics will be added 3 months later.
