Hi all,

I had been on the big 3 for about 9 months, but had to quit finasteride due to side effects (gyno, limp, pain) and I've gone the topical route. spironolactone was now my main anti-dht (for the past 6 months) and sadly, my hair has thinned considerably. Lately, I've tried topical finasteride at a lower dosage, and I appear to be tolerating it.

Now, because my DHT levels won't be as suppressed as it would be with the full 1.25mg dose, it is my hope that spironolactone can compensate for the difference without the side effects. With a bit more research, I've devised a some "half home-made" topical solutions I'd like to share:

Minfin

Proven DHT suppression and growth stimulation

5% Minoxidil
Finasteride

Dissolve 3 tablets of Proscar (total of 15mg) into a bottle of minoxidil (60ml) overnight. This will hopefully prevent DHT formation in the follicle - but will have a somewhat lesser effect systematically. It is unknown whether follicle DHT production, or general serum DHT is what causes the most damage.

Azibesix

Speculated DHT suppression and growth stimulation

Zinc
Vitamin B6
Magnesium
Atp
Creatine
Inosine
Azelaic Acid

Dissolve 5 tablet of this and 10g of this and into 60ml of water. Why all these and not just spironolactone? Because the stuff stinks and frankly you can't use it during the day. What you do have to use with this solution is a 20% Azelaic acid anti-pimple cream (like this). After applying azibesix, get a small amount of of the cream and rub it in. Apparently azelaic acid, zinc and vitB6 when combined become a strong DHT inhibitor. Second, adenosine (ATP) has been shown to promote growth (the shisedo study). All those other "contaminants" are there (eg creatine, magnesium) because I can't find more pure solutions where I live.

I haven't made an attempt to make this solution yet - I just purchased the ingredients - so there may be problems with residue or precipitation. The reason you don't want to be dissolving those vitamin tablets into minoxidil is that they are absolutely insoluble in water.

Ok, so for a sample regime:

Morning:
Apply azibsix (1ml) first and allow to dry. Next comes minfin (1ml) and finally seal it all in with a small amount of azelaic acid cream.

Night:
Apply azibisix (1ml) first and dry. Then comes minfin (1ml), and seal it all off with 5% spironolactone cream (eg from minoxidil.com).

Shampoo (on rotation):
Nizoral (ketoconazole)
Head and Shoulders (zinc pyrithione)
Selsun Blue 5 (selenium Sulfide)

What do you guys think? Have I been smoking too much?

If I were you I would just add copper peptides, thats going to do more than everything on that list except minoxidil.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't believe that the amount of finasteride you are dissolving in the minoxidil is anywhere near enough to obtain a concentration high enough to be effective...(assuming topical finasteride is effective at all)...and the asibsix stuff....well, I have strong doubts on that as well.

I hear a lot about copper peptides - but I haven't seen any studies about them posted. Anyone?

The topical finasteride is "effective" as I do have very mild side-effects - but tolerable. But it is true - who knows if such a reduced dose is truely effective hair wise.

Azibesix - it's just a poor (very poor - no funky linoeic acids) mans attempt at revivogen. The ATP idea was taken from the shiseido study. But my mix is potentially useless.. I need ideas on how to dissolve these things!
