Quick Question

I'm currently 3 weeks into 1.25mg daily generic proscar, having added it to my previous 3 months of minoxidil and keto regimen. My libido is just fine so far. Getting and maintaining erections hasn't been an issue, but I've noticed lately in the reservoir of the condoms that my semen is much more watery than usual. I've read that this is a common side effect, and normally goes away once the body adapts to the finasteride. Has anyone else experienced this, and seen it return to normal in due time? It's not really a huge concern because it's not affecting my ability to enjoy sex, but I'm just curious. As long as my sperm count isn't affected, on the off chance I may be pressured into popping out a few bastards in the future, it's not going to be a reason to stop taking the finasteride.

Yeah the watery semen is a side. I had the same thing, not sure when everything went back to normal, but it did.

Thanks, dude. I'm just hoping to make it through these first few months without any libido issues or achy testes so I can no longer worry about becoming one of those finasteride casualty stories that I've seen around the internet.

Let me give you some advice. If you think you may be scared away from taking finasteride because of the horror stories, then stay away from these or other message boards for a couple of months. Also take the pill at the beginning of your day, that way you wont have time to sit around and think about sides.

BTW, I also got the ball ache. Nothing painful, but more discomfort. That also went away within a couple of months.

Dude, I spent the better part of 3 months reading the horror stories some people put out there in regards to this stuff. I try to stay away from it, even on here. However, I came to the conclusion that all medications have small subsets of people that end up with side effects, and it's just the way it is. For me the pros of finasteride outweigh the cons, and there's nothing to scare me off at this point. A lot of people read the symptoms, and end up giving them to themselves in psychosomatic form... almost like a reverse placebo effect. I pop in on these boards occasionally because I want to hear what others like me are going through.

Staying positive is no less significant than staying informed. Like you've insightfully observed , the "power of suggestion" is quite capable of visibly working in both extremes. If I tell myself I'm going to have a lousy day then Voila! It's a good chance I will. On the other hand, it's equally important to point out that our positive attitudes don't necessarily dictate how the remainder of the prevailing tone of our day will play out. Unfortunately no matter how forewarned and/or forearmed we may feel we are each time we greet the day we are never far from life's precarious and unsuspecting nature. At the end of the day so to speak, when it comes to our personal security and well being, good old fashion common sense is mostly all we need . All the best with finasteride. Stay well.
