So I have a very bad dandruff problem. I get large flakes and I also get scabs or what I think are scabs. I'm currently using only rogaine right now to treat my hair loss.

Will the bad dandruff work against me? I think the reason why I have dandruff is because I stopped scrubbing my head every time I shower (dont judge). I just run my head through hot water and use the hot water as a form of scalp massage. I am still shedding and the reason why my hair hasn't worsened (I think) is because I stopped scrubbing my head.

Will having bad dandruff work against me? Can dandruff (and if I have the fungal whatever) work against my hair in any way?

You need a healty scalp environment for your hair to grow thick. Any scalp issues such as dandruff, dermatitis or inflammation, wouldn't do much good as far as promoting healthy hair's concerned.
