Quick Question

Thanks to everyone who responded to my last post.

Heres my problem. I am a full student at college right now and I honestly cant find time to apply minoxidil twice and a day and wait 4 hours before washing my hair or better yet an hour to wear a hat haha. I was using minoxidil before I got here but had to disband it due to lack of time. Heres my new plan tho and tell me if this wouldnt work or would. Due to my class scheldue I was figuring I could apply minoxidil once a day on Monday Wednesday and Friday. Than on Tuesday Thursday Saturday and Sunday twice a day. On the Monday Wed and Fri's I was thinking of shampooing with Nano Shampoo to try to get another easier growth stimulant in there since I am only using the minoxidil once a day on those days. On the other days I could use nizoral/Progaine, whichever you think is better. Any suggestions or retractors of this plan working?

When I start minoxidil I will only be using it once a day for the same sort of reasons. I'm not keen to start using minoxidil as it is, but plan to soon (just on finasteride at the mo). I will only be applying it in the evenings which I know isn't ideal but has got to be better than not using the stuff at all :)

I second what Axon says. I normally prefer Rogaine, but if I have to get out of the house in a hurry (especially in the mornings) I use Dr. Lee's. I use it after my hair dries, after I style it. I take the dropper, wipe the excess moisture from the sides of it, and poke it through my styled hair to the scalp and let a droplet go. I dot my affected area in this fashion until I've applied the whole 1ml.

It practically dries before I step into my car. And if it doesn't, the residual wetness on the scalp from it is obscured by the dry hair covering it.

I would defininetly try to stick to a 2x day application if possible.

How can you not have time? I work 40 + a week and go to school full time. It takes a little effort on your part. I don't mean to sound moody but you can always find time.

Because I have a life to live. My hair is long so the minoxidil gets stuck in the hair and ruins my look completely, I look like a moron, so waiting around just kills me, its like my world has to stop for minoxidil. Listen if I really wanted to stop my life and totally forget about everything then yeah I could do it and wait, but I just dont see it feasible. Secondly I would order Dr. Lees minoxidil but I already have a 3 month supply of Rogaine left over from when I started before and don't have the money to buy it. The only reason I could buy the Nano is because I convinced my dad I needed it. I don't wanna waste my Rogaine I spent 30 bucks on ya know. No one really answered my question. While I know twice a day is the norm, would my regimen work at all. Or does doing it once a day 3 times a week mess it up?

Heres a tip...

Take the dropper and wipe off the sides with some toilet paper or whatever. What makes your hair look like sh*t is the residue on the sides of the dropper rubbing off on the hair.

As far as your questions goes, yes more than likely it is a bad routine.

I believe studies have shown that minoxidil once a day does help, just not as significantly as twice a day. Doing it as you suggested should be fine. You just wont have quite the results that you would on a full minoxidil regimen.

Xanadrox is just reformulated minoxidil, and like minoxidil, can be used with Propecia. And yes, alternating works fine; plenty of users here do that.

is Xandrox 5% any better than Rogaine? And what is Xandrox 15%, sorry for all the questions

Xandrox contains minoxidil and azelic acid, which is purported to reduce DHT but probably does not.

Read the link I posted earlier. Make your own decision.
