How detectable is the smell?
How does the look of application compare w/ liquid minoxidil? (Does it give hair "gummy" look?)
Do you wash out or leave in before you go out?

I have heard it smells worse than cream. But i was on dr lees website and it says now lotion now odourless! Which sounds great, and i definately recommend using him as the delivery is quick.

I just hope it does smell better now as I have had comments....

It definitely smells. There's no way I'd put it on in the morning and go out with it on. I apply it at night and always take a shower in the morning. And it makes your hair look a little on the dry side. Probably because of the alcohol/propylene glycol in it.

The spironolactone 2% can have a bit of a skunky smell. If used alone though - the smell dissipates fairly well and fairly quickly. (Have that cologne ready though - just in case).

The interatction w/ spironolactone 2% and minoxidil will increase the potential for a bad odor though. If you're also a minoxidil user, apply the spironolactone first, and then wait at least ten minutes before applying your minoxidil.

(I used spironolactone 2% for over a year).

I made the same experience with the 5 % lotion (Dr. Lee): smells only in combination with minoxidil. Both when washed away before applying Minoxidil and when I apply spironolactone only there is no smell.
They definitely react with each other.

Hello guys! I am currently on a treatment with Propecia and Rogaine 5%. But i have thoughts about testing spironolactone, what is your opinion of the effect, has it done anything in order to halt the hairloss for u?

ripple-effect,
I wrote my regimen in the "View My Regimen" section. I am a Norwood 2.5 or so but I think the end point of my V shaped hairline has gone up too. I've been on Propecia for 4 years, stopped for 6 months between Fall 2004 and Spring 2005, and my hairloss got worse. Yet, finasteride has not stopped my receding completely, just maybe slowed it down. Also, my crown was starting to thin, and I get these itchy, sometimes achey spots where it was thinning so then I started to use 2% liquid spironolactone and usually my itch is gone then. My temples started to itch too and that's where my V hairline started to become more narrower and 2% liquid spironolactone at night and 2% keto cream in the morning are the only things that have actually eliminated or siginificantly reduced that itching where my temples are. It hasn't regrown anything but my hair looks more manageable and thicker and it seems to have slowed and maybe even stopped my recession for now.

Thing is, if you're using spironolactone 5% and minoxidil - you're supposed to aplpy the minoxidil first, wait 10 mnutes, then apply the spironolactone 5%.

On Dr. Lee's site, he describes that he tries to minimize the smell of the liquid. Some users say that the smell is not too bad while others say it's horrible. I remember these types of mixed reviews before I bought Revivogen. When I finally got it....I actually liked the smell of Revivogen. I think it's probably b/c they added perfume to the new version while the old version stunk.
