A few things when sifting through his blog:
He is all about profiling your miniturization and indicates that diffuse thinners are the best canidates for finasteride because strict receeders typically do not have as aggresive of a form of male pattern baldness but the hairs they do lose are very tough to save because all frontal hairloss caused by male pattern baldness is very tough to battle.
He seperates inpetus from common labido problems when talking about sides. He also says that if impetance is a side effect for you then it will reveal itslef early on (first few months) and after that impetance is very very rare. He also justify's the many complaints he gets on side effects on paranoi, depression over male pattern baldness or just men getting the typical labido drop from getting older and not finasteride. He does address the side effect issue very often but indicates it is minor. He also thinks finasteride is the best treatment and he highly recommends it for all. He thinks minoxidil and finasteride can be helpful for the hairline, but are much better with the crown. He does not recommend cutting proscar, but if you do then do not cut it up all at once but instead just chip off from the pill each morning. The earlier you catch your hairloss the better the results will be from finasteride or minoxidil.
