Hey everyone, first thread/first post since signing up. I've had a prescription of propecia for almost a year now, which I got after a consultation with a hair restoration clinic - it's been sitting in my drawer, because after reading about the side effects and doing a bit of research, the side effects scared me quite a bit. I actually went in to that consultation hoping that I could set up a hair transplant procedure, however, the doctor/specialist recommended that I do propecia for about six months first, since the back of my head (where the hair would be drawn from) was a bit spotty and not entirely full.

I'm 26, and while not completely bald up top, I had to start shaving my head around age 24 since it was getting too thin to "fake" anymore - I could get by for a few years prior by combing my hair to the side, but alas.

I currently use rogaine foam twice a day, have been for a few years - it hasn't really improved anything. Perhaps it's maintained or slowed down my balding, but I can't say for sure. I also use regenepure every couple of days.

Anyway - I've been thinking of taking the plunge and starting propecia. I know of the side effects that people can get, but I also wanted to know how it affects muscle (if at all), if you can still have normal physical activity, etc. I go to the gym about 4 days a week and work out for about an hour to an hour and a half, and am just wondering if there's anything that may complicate that due to propecia.

I'm a bit of a health freak in general - very big on eating healthy and exercise, are there any long-term effects on the body (sexual side effects aside) that can arise from propecia?
