2. Is too much (amount) minoxidil can cause something bad except the side effects that are know to happen when apllying too much minoxidil ?..
I'm afraid that I'm apllying too much ..
Best regards,
Moshe
Minoxidil is dose dependent. Now weather mean amount in minoxidil % or mg of over the counter solution. To be safe I'll address both
Higher concentration of Minoxidil (% in solution) will lead to more shedding at the start of your regime. This has been clinically proven and also verified by members of the forum. The reason for this is the higher concentration will force folicals that are at or near the end of there growth cycle to shed and regrow. You really need to understand the growth cycle of hair folicals to really understand. The lower % solutions wil not force hairs near the end of there growth cycles as much as a higher % concentration. This is also variations base of individuals as we are all different.
Now if you are referring to amount as in MG of solution. The answer is also yes. Based off the additional ingredients you will find in the solution most common Alcohol and PPG. This is a two sides answer. The more solution you place on your head the higher your chance is of inflammation. Some sensitive skin types are also irritated by higher amounts of PPG thus the reason for PPG and NonPPG brands. Inflammation will lead to shedding. Another is the Alcohol, when new hair grows in it doesn;t always push out the preexisting folical that maybe held in by sebum build up. The majority of dead hairs will fall out but those with a higher sebum build up on the scalp can sometimes retain a large number of dead hairs that are kind of glued to your head. The new folicals will a lot of time just grow beside them. The alcohol can work to break down this sebum as its mainly there as a carrier agent for the Minoxidil it also breaks up sebum and ca cause irritation on some more sensitive skins. The loosening of sebum gives a false shed as these hairs were to of been gone long ago. Nizoral is the same as it helps to break up the sebum build up and thus the reason some people see a shed after starting use.
Now for your second questions. That answer can not be truthfully answer by anyone. Like I said we are all different individuals. But Minoxidil has been on the market for over 20 years as a topical and has been proven safe at high levels of concentration. If you do not experience any of the listed side effects then you should be fine as for the majority it is well tolerated. Granted I would not go above 15% as the higher dosages will lead to more of the Minoxidil to enter the blood stream. Which is the cause of the rapid heart beat, swelling of hands and feet, and flushness in the face.
Finally there really is no reason for most individuals to use more than a 5% solution of 1mg. Unless you have diffused thinning or long hair in which case a good deal of the 1mg can get lost on the hair and not reaching the scalp. But if you apply it appropriately and take you time you really shouldn't have much trouble only using 1mg.
I personally use 1-1.5mg each application as I do have diffused thinning and my hair is about 3 wavy inches. Plus I tend to rush through the application process. At nights I always only use 1mg as my hair is damp from the shower and is much easier to apply for me personally
Remember shedding is a good sign when you first start to battle your hair lost with Minoxidil. It can be problematic cosmetically but remember its only temporarily unless you are have sever inflammation.
