Question Regarding Nizoral Shampoo ( Thinning Of Hair )

Okay so I've just bought mycoseb shampoo ( it has 20mg of keto in it ) since nizoral isn't available in my country.
I wanted to give it a shot but today I searched the forum and saw that many poeple have problems when using it in terms of hair becoming thinner. So now I am hesitating to try it. I thought that it was just a shampoo and didnt expcet that thinning from it may occur.
What are your opimions?

Yes, if you over use it, it definitely can. Use it sparingly and don't leave it on too long. Many people have reported straw like hair after over use. Sort of like the damage a woman gets from over processing her hair.

I plan to use it 1-2 times a week. Should I coundition my hair after? Is it the shampoo itself harsh to the hair?

If its 2 per cent. I'd use it once. Do you have male pattern baldness? Because nothing will work like finasteride. It initially gives a thickening effect but can be harsh over time. Use very sparingly mate and you should be fine. Definitely condition after.

In a study presented to the Am Academy of Dermatology, the researchers associated with McNeil, makers of the 1% OTC version of Nizoral Shampoo found that it had, as it has been shown for the 2% precription version, beneficial effects on Androgenetic Alopecia (male pattern baldness).

In short they found that 1% Nizoral Shampoo reduced sebum emission, and increased hair shaft diameter (which decreases in male pattern baldness) after being used 2-3 times a week for a period of 6 months. They also found a percentage increase in the overall number of anagen hairs, which typically decreased overtime in male pattern baldness. By comparison they found Zinc Pyrithione Shampoo (Head and Shoulders) did not decrease sebum emission or increase hair shaft diameter, but did increase the overall number of anagen hairs as well.

The decrease in sebum emission caused by 1% Nizoral Shampoo, seems to confirm its antiandrogenic action, which is though by most to be only one of the reasons it helps hair loss.
