Question/Price

Here's my question:

I recently went on Finasteride (month ago) and I'm wondering how long I should wait until I start thinking about getting a hair transplant...

Also, I don't know what prices are. I hear like 4 dollars a graft or something like that.

Could someone give me an estimate on what they think it would cost to go from a norwood 2 to a norwood 1?

(Left: 2, right: 1)

Thanks.

Edit: 1 dollar per graft was... ummm... a typo or something :p

$1 a graft? Do some research. Look up Shapiro's, Feller's, or Armani's websites. Send them some quality pictures of your hair and they'll provide you with feedback on how to meet your goals (along with price quotes). I believe $3/graft is the cheapest rate you'll be able to find, and that's with Strip. FUE you're looking at AT LEAST $8-10/ graft.

Hrm, the hair restoration specialist in my city charges $4 Cdn per graft, and imposes a MINIMUM of 500 grafts per session. Do most places impose this sort of minimum limit?

Are these minimum limits actually enforced, or just a guideline listed on the website?

If you want your grafted hair to make any sort of difference cosmetically, then yes you'll need at least 500 grafts, and probably a lot more. And I hope the hair restoration specialist you're referring to in your city is one of the big name guys. By the way, you should probably search through old posts to answer some of your questions. A lot of people on here would consider you lazy for asking questions that can easily be answered through some simple web searching. Good luck.

Apparently he's one of the leading hair restoration specialists in Canada.
He's a member of that International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons and he's certified in Canada and the U.S., and he has like 25 years experience.
I've heard good things about him.
His name is dr Michael Sheps, dunno if you've heard of him.

Never heard of him now or in the past 26 years. Where have you seen his past patients recommend him?

It is HIGHLY advisable to never ever use price as any part of your criteria in deciding on a competent reputable surgeon. It's results and ethics that count!

I perceive and recommend that you really need to do some homework here. That will equip you in knowing what to look for and what questions to ask the doctor.

I bet you can't wait to get started!
