question on storing cut pills (proscar)

Okay, so I cut my proscar in to 4ths. I store it in a glass jar with a rubber seal and a clamp to make sure nothing comes in....or out!

The problem is, I noticed that the third day the last two pills left are soft, and easier to break apart. I am wondering why, since i put it in a glass container, sealed.... also, will this affect the effectivness of the drug? is there anything i can do to stop this from happening? I was kinda of shocked to see the 2 cut pills soft in consistency. and has anyone else experienced this?

thanks for any input.

That's is rather strange. Maybe the coating that is on the pill keeps it from breaking apart? So what did you use too cut the pills with?

Even a seemingly dry glass jar will contain enough atmospheric moisture to create ambient condensation = osmosis & absorbtion. A simple solution. A good pill cutter box will be airproof, compact and, being plastic, therefore less prone to condensation, thus preventing damp. You can order these from medical suppliers. I bought my £5 pill cutter from a specialist supplier to retirement homes in lovely Lytham St Annes. The querky thing is that they require you to sign a form that any equipment is bought for personal medical needs, to qualify for exemption from VAT. Blooming red tape over £5.00. Or, you can put a silica bag into your glass jar, therefore avoiding the VAT question altogether. I would be delighted to hear of other solutions to the age old question of divided proscar viability. It is not pedantic to seek clarity in the midst of confusion.

Thanks, I can just get a pill box from my local drug store, that will probably do the trick.

Do you think the moisture made the pill less effective ?
