Question on minoxidil 5% and Diffuse Thinning

I have a moderately receding hairline along with moderate diffusion. My vertex thinning is fairly bad, hence my decision to begin the minoxidil-finasteride-nizoral triplet. My question is: I understand that minoxidil is supposed to be applied to the "hair loss area" (so it says in the instructions), so does that mean for diffuse thinners to use it all over my head, or should I just stick with the vertex and let the finasteride take care of the diffusion? What's the standard protocol for situations like this?

Thanks for any help!

Any advice? If it's already been covered somewhere, my apologies, please just point me in the right direction.

diffuse thining

i recomend you to use in all thining area becouse of minoxidil with finasteride has better result.
also if 1 ml is not enough for covering thining area you can use 1.5 ml or 2 ml (ofcourse price is more expensive).
but result is great with finasteride for diffuse thining

i also have that same problem, diffuse thinning and minoxidil. many people on this board said it is okay to use on your hairline... i do it and so do many others.

it takes me around 2 ml twice a day to cover my spots. drop the minoxidil on the spots where the hair is most thin... probably the spots where your scalp shows through. it came with a sprayer but i dont know if that'll be effective since the hairs will probably soak it up unless you shave your head.

and another bit of good news for you.. HairLossTalk.com said that finasteride is perfect for diffuse thinners. yea so i think you are on a very good start using those 3. i'm a newbie but i think what i told you is legit.

good luck and keep posting!

Yup try to get it on all thinning areas. Us diffuse thinners seem to use up to 2ml per application. minoxidil is thought to spread beneath the skin so 100% full coverage isn't neccasary. Just try to do the best you can.
