Hey all I’m new to the concept of hair loss and I was reading up on hairline maturation. I’m currently 18 years old and don’t have a history of balding except for my uncle who’s hairline started to recede at like 37. I wanted to know whether my hairline is just maturing or whethere I should see a physician if I am balding.

Probably maturing. Your family history makes it really unlikely for you to start receding at this age.

It comes as no surprise if the trend of hair loss starts at this age for you, especially with your family history. It would be too early to call it maturation. Better closely see how it progresses for the next few months. If it does, then a visit to the doctor would be a good idea so you can prevent it as early as possible.
