Only time will tell, For some, this is all they get, and for others, it grows back longer, thicker, and darker with each cycle.

How long is a hair cycle suppose to last?

Im not entirely sure, i guess it depends on the length of the hairs. As male pattern baldness progresses, the hairs get finer and lighter, and their cycles shorten (hence being shorter hair) so i guess the cycle on fine vellus hair would be alot quicker then terminal hair, as typically it only grows to about 1cm or so.

As far as im aware, hair grows at about 1cm a month, then the telogen (falling) phase can last upto 6 weeks, then the cycle starts again.

Minoxidil & Biotin

for just only a month ive been using minoxidil and finasteride i have lot of baby hair in my frontal part its about 1cm ..i just wanna ask is this gonna grow like a normal hair????or this will stay like this forever??help pls :) :) :punk:

I started using minoxidil 5% (liquid) January 2014. Baby hair started to grow back within a month and half. In the next four months I continued to apply the liquid everyday, (two times a day, morning and night before sleep). But nothing happened. All the baby hair never grew. It stayed the same, so I was discouraged and stopped with Rogaine for in August 2014. The baby hair fell off of along with other darker looking hair. So i started using minoxidil again but only once a day. The baby hair did come back but that was it. It never grew.

Then Nov 2015 I started using a product called Nuhair (has zinc, saw palmetto). The result was almost instantaneous. The baby hair became a little longer and darker but I had to stop Nuhair because the testicular pain was a bit uncomfortable. That was when I learned about DHT blocker and looked around for another natural substitute. I found Purador shampoo to be a suitable substitute because it has some saw palmetto but Amazon took forever to come (it was during Christmas time).

In my search for hair vitamin I came across other natural products to promote growth. Biotin and fish oil came on time so I started taking them along with Minoxidil. I also drink 4 cups of green tea a day. I have to say I am impressed with this combination and have seen extensive growth in as little as 4 weeks. More baby hair on the forehead starting to get longer. Bald areas starting to darken as well. People are starting to take notice. I prefer treatment to be as natural as possible. There's something about hormonal changes that scares me.

Based on my experience, I believe Minoxidil stimulates hair growth and will only grow baby hair for those who are late users (I was in mid-stage of hair loss before I started treatment). Then you need to provide the baby hair with sufficient nutrients to reach adulthood - which biotin provides.
