so is Telogen effluvium when the hair that sheds has a white bulb on the end of it?......or can you get a white bulb on the end of any hair that sheds?...and i guess it is possible to have male pattern baldness and Telogen effluvium?...and does or can Telogen effluvium effect hair all over the scalp...like their arnt specific places it effects like the crown and temples for male pattern baldness?...Telogen effluvium is normally a diffuse kind of thinning?......and is it also correct to say there is no cure, or any treatment for Telogen effluvium?....i feel like i have both Telogen effluvium and male pattern baldness...i think my fluridil has taken care of my male pattern baldness, in that im not losing a great deal of hair from those common places to lose hair for male pattern baldness, however i am losing these hairs above and around the ears and right at the back of my head...and these hairs tend to have a small tiny white bulb on the end of them......so if there are any of you 'in the know' about this, or suffered it yourself, then i would really appreciate some feedback, thank you guys

The bulb indicates nothing... it just means that the hair was shed during telogen phase, in lieu of it being broken or cut off. Hairs shed during male pattern baldness and Telogen Effluvium both have, predominantly, hairs with bulbs on the ends. The color, shape, or size of the bulb does not indicate anything either, except perhaps for the location on the scalp of where the bulb was shed from.

Telogen Effluvium is very very rare, and is usually a rather dramatic event. Now, I can't see your hair and can't be 100% definitive, but from what you describe methinks you probably have male pattern baldness, and are going through a generalized or what we refer to as a 'seasonal' shed. All people go through occasional 'seasonal' sheds, both male pattern baldness and non-male pattern baldness people, and they can affect hairs throughout the entire scalp. These sheds are regrown, minus any male pattern baldness progression that took place in the background while they occurred.

hi thanks for the reply...i guess your the guy to ask....so let me ask you somethgin else...well like i said..i know i have male pattern baldness, im not kidding myself about it..i know i have...i was just wondering if the diffuse shedding in my so-called donor area was part of male pattern baldness, or Telogen Effluvium, and i know Telogen Effluvium is generally caused by a traumatic event, however i also read somewhere it could be because of poor diet..and my diet consists of one meal a day in the evengins, n most days i only eat half of it....lack of appetite you see...I know your probably thinking im tryin to find somethign to say that i dnt have male pattern baldness, but i know i do have it, i was simply curious about the diffuse thinning in my 'donor area'....i hope to hear your thoughts on this some more...thanks
