Question For finasteride And nizoral Users.....

This may seem a bit odd but was curious if anyone else has had a similar experience and what steps you took to resolve...

Been on finasteride for 6 months, and have been on nizoral (regenepure dr) for over a year. When I first started nizoral I was getting a horrible male pattern baldness itch. Since starting finasteride and nizoral it has completely gone away. However, in the past month or so I've been getting a burning, sensitive to touch area on one side of my head. It's not as constant as the male pattern baldness itch was and I have noticed it's worse when I use the nizoral. I"ve been trying to stay away from nizoral to see if it's just a reaction but it's still coming and going.

I've tried to add moisturizing shampoo, and conditioner but it's still there. I think my hair is thinner on that side as well.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Why are you using nizoral in first place ? I have a very bad experience with nizoral and most others I know who used it.

Yeah man honestly all you need is finasteride unless of course you want more regrowth. In that case, add minoxidil. But even finasteride by itself is very effective at thickening/regrowing miniaturized hair.

I thought I was using 2 out of the "big 3"... I have't used Regenepure in over a week and it's still burning like mad. Only on the one side by my ear. Very strange and maddening...

Using Min and nizoral for over a year, Finnie 1/4 for +-7 months. Often i have sore to the touch, burning vertex (not itchy). The precise spots (when poking with one finger) always seem to move around a bit within that area. Some weeks nizoral flares it up, some weeks nizoral subsides it. Am i growing or losing hair there? I cant tell yet...

I had the same sore spots on my head, mainly around the neckline felt like ingrown hairs or something...switched to dutasteride going on 2 months now..much less shedding no sides and no sore spots. Maybe switch to duta

I will probably switch to duta when hair-wise things obviously start to get worse. I want to see what happens first, the thought of switching makes me a bit nervous though. Did you use finasteride prior, how long, and why did you switch. Thanks for sharing.

To be honest @shulk , your hair may not get much worse on finasteride. I mean, that is kind of the point...

Yea I was on finasteride for a year, I responded well to it, hair got darker, thicker but just kept shedding and figured I'd make the jump to duta to see if I'd benefit. Very little shedding now compared and seem to be making some gains on my temple points. Time will tell I guess.

Hi mate I'm in the same boat. hair has been darker and thicker on finasteride for 2 years now.. but keeps shedding a bit by about 10 hairs on my hands when I shampoo every night. I'm thinking about jumping to duta. how you going with it? whats your dosage? did you take both of them at the same time and then slow off finasteride? much appreciated

No I quit finasteride cold turkey and jump on dutasteride .5 mil a day..sometimes I skip days with no problem..way less shedding than finasteride and less sides in my case but by the forums consensus I guess I'm in the minority.
