Question about vitamins and supplements...

I am currently taking a number of vitamins and supplements every day to combat my hair loss. I am taking zinc, biotin, fish oils, and the hair essential vitamins which contain saw palmetto. I was wondering if too much of one vitamin is bad for my hair?

The only one I take more than the recommended dosage is the zinc tablets. The bottle says to take one tablet a day with a meal but I have been taking two. Each tablet is 50 mg, it just seems like the tablets are small so I should take two instead of 1.

Too much?

Also the Hair Essentials contains 15 mg of zinc.

115mg zink is WAY too much...

And since you take saw palmetto already. Why not just drop it and do finasteride instead? finasteride seem to have less side effects, more efficient and cheaper than saw palmetto wich basicly is finasteride in a natural less powerfull form... Drop down to 15mg zink a day

Wasting your time no amount of vitamins can have any effect on this genetic condition.

Well I want to get on finasteride but I have to get the prescription first and I'm just trying to find time to get to a dermatologist. I'll take your advice and drop some of the zinc.

s.a.f, I realize that but I do think I have an iron deficiency which can cause you to lose more hair than is wanted. I am currently on minoxidil and Nizoral so I think the supplements can help aid those in fighting hairloss. I think I am a diffuse thinner as well but I am not sure how to tell the difference.
