Question about Rogaine?

I am 23 years old. I've never experienced any hairloss before taking Rogaine. I honestly didn't know how Rogaine worked and thought if I just put it in my hair it would grow it out faster. So one day I got a haircut and wanted to grow out faster which I believe it did. I only used it off and on for about 2-3 weeks. But I quit using it because my hair started to thin from my hair shedding. I applied Rogaine on the front of my hair. I can now see my scalp more clearly when my hair is wet. It's been 7 weeks since the last time I used it on my hair. My hair is still shedding but I think it's started to slow down. I've called Rogaine customer support and they tell me that hair hair should grow back since I wasn't experiencing any hairloss before but I need to give it time. My question is do you guys think Rogaine destroyed my hair or that I will eventually recover and see regrowth? My hair isn't really short right now so it will most likely take time to fill in but I just don't know. So depressed about this all and any good advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Rogaine can't destroy hair. Are the hairs you shed thinner than the hair on the sides of your head?

I've been shedding long healthy hairs I believe. I think some have been thin but a lot have been thick also.

The lady on the phone said since I used Rogaine all it did was speed up my hair cycle and since I wasn't having hairloss before then my hair should eventually go back to the state it once was.

As long as you don't have miniaturization, you are not experiencing male pattern baldness. But even a few miniaturized hairs are signs of early male pattern baldness. For your own sake, if it is male pattern baldness, don't deny it for too long, and don't blame Rogaine. When you are sure, start treatments.
Good luck.

What do miniaturized hairs look like? Almost all the hairs are long that are falling. I'm wondering if rogaine caused me to have temporary telogen effluvium?

it is just putting the hairs through a natural hair cycle but in a synchronized fashion so they shed all at once. They will grow back. Shedding is normal when starting rogaine. Lol at being depressed about your hair when you state you don't even have male pattern baldness or alopecia areata or any other form of actual hairloss. Would hate to see how depressed you are if u actually get real hair loss

@zzzzz How long do you think it will take for my hairs that shed to grow back and fill in? I'm just depressed at the moment because I've never dealt with losing hair like this and my hair has thinned out where applied.
