Tried to search around for my answer couldn't find exactly what I wanted to know

Does finasteride basically pause your hair loss? So for example lets say I have a hair that would have died in a years time, if I go on finasteride for 5 years and then stop, will that same hair die in one years time?

This makes sense to me because that hair will not be getting the adverse effects of dht... Thanks for the responses guys.

Is this just a really stupid question or do people not understand what I am trying to say?

If I go on propecia for 5 years, and then stop, I know the hair that it re grew will fall out, but the hair that it kept will that also fall out? I don't understand why it would because it will be shielded in a way from the DHT

So lets say I would be a nw6 when i was 40, I am 21 right now, if I started on propecia and then stopped when I was 39 and maintained a Norwood 2, in a matter of 6 months I would progress to a Norwood 6?

I know it would lose it's effectiveness over 19 years, was more of a hypothetical example. I always thought that propecia "paused" your hairloss because it protected your hair from DHT. This makes me want to go on propecia even less now :(

That's a rather tricky question to answer with any certainty, and requires a lot of speculation. I've often pointed to the large Phase III Propecia trial, in which one group of subjects was given the 1 mg finasteride dose for the first year, but were switched-over to placebo for the second year. That group had a sharper decline in haircounts during that second year than even the 2-year placebo users; that makes a fair amount of sense, because they had grown some extra hair during their first year on finasteride, which quickly went bye-bye during the second year.

But did they gain anything at all in the long-run, just from being on finasteride for the first year? They _were_ still a little ahead of the "placebo-placebo" group in haircounts, even after suffering that sharp drop during the second year.

There are other male androgens that also connect to the har follicles receptors and stimulate the balding process in men with Androgenetic Alopecia. Testosterone does this for example. Finasteride does not protect your hair from these other androgens, and it doesn't protect your hair from all of the DHT, but it is still an effective treatment, the effectiveness varies for each man.

A better approach is to block the androgen receptors themselves, with new drugs like CB-03-01. CB-03-01 blocks the receptors and protects them from all of the androgens, not just DHT.

Unfortunately, it will take years before it becomes approved and makes it to market. The good news is, you can order it from laboratories, me and a few guys on this froum are throwing in on an order, if you're interested PM me, you can read more about CB in the guide in my signature...

do you know of any information on this CB-03-01? on how it works etc?
