Question about Propecia

How much does Propecia cost a month? And do I have to continue on Propecia for the rest of my life to maintain results?

Just wondering cause I've been concerned with thinning hair and I'm not really interested in being on Propecia for the rest of my life.

You can get a prescription for Proscar, which is 5mg finasteride instead of 1mg like Propecia. Split it into 4 pills, or even take a half of the 1/4th every day. There are some studies showing the effects of smaller doses being almost as good as 1mg with less side effects. 30 pills of Proscar, which equate to 4 months supply is like $75 from Wal-Mart, so it's about $17 a month.

I suppose you have to take it as long as you want to retain your hair, and then get off of it when you are fed up or when something better comes along.

I dunno. I got a prescription yesterday from my doctor, but I haven't decided if I'm going to fill it yet.

In Portugal, pharmacies don't give a sh** about prescriptions. You can easily buy Proscar here without a prescription.

You need a perscription to by those medicines, and they've always asked me for a perscription, my dad has health insurance, so its only 3 euros for 60 pills :woot:

Flavio, in Portugal you have to buy Proscar in online pharmacies you can not get it on a local pharmacie and you need a prescription for Propecia.
The bigger problem is if you want to get Minoxidil you have to buy online, there is no minoxidil in Portugal, talking about a UE country... :nono:

No you dont. you can get both 5 mg and 1mg finasteride pills with a perscription, you dont have to buy online, unless you dont have a perscription.
