question about minoxidil and finasteride

i'm not sure if i have male pattern baldness or not but lets say i don't

would applying finasteride and/or minoxidil still thicken up my hairs and grow back the ones that went temporarily dormant?

because my pattern of hairloss is extremely wierd diffuse thinning.

If your hairloss isn't caused by DHT, Finasteride won't do anything at all at least.

hmm is there any way to confirm that DHT is the reason for my hairloss/thinning?

because i remember even up to a few years ago, my hairs were thick and even the ones that fell out were full and thick.

but nowadays, my hair has lost a lot of volume, fullness, and overall thickness and many of the shed hairs are thin.

You could probably get your DHT-levels checked, but I'd try to see a dermatologist first. A good one should be able to tell if you're experiencing male pattern baldness or some other type of hairloss, even if the pattern is strange.

Well if you added minoxidil and finasteride it may cause a shed if you don't have male pattern baldness, so it could make your hair look worse for a time.

and pbz i have visited 2 dermatologists... one motherfucker who did jack sh*t and took my money (not to mention the bastard tugged out a handfull of my hairs!)

and the second one i went to... a lot better but he said that he definitely noticed some thinning but didn't know whether it was male pattern baldness or not. i'm really doubting that i have male pattern baldness because noone not even my grandfathers have male pattern baldness just slight diffuse thinning due to old age.

but i was born with thin/fine hair but no scalp was able to be seen. wtf is going on?
