So I'm 21 and started noticing I was (slowly) starting to lose my hair last year, my father's side of the family are mostly bald but didn't end up going bald until their 30's, and also on my mother's side of the family everyone has a good head of hair from people up to 20-70 years old.
I know it's impossible to predict but I was just curious as to what peoples opinions are on when I would start to fully lose my hair without treatment
I'm a NW2 roughly and apparently its normal to lose up to 50-100 hairs every single day as long as those hairs are being replaced.
The reason for not wanting to start treatment is because I personally believe finasteride/rogaine/nizoral or any other treatments are not much more than a placebo this is just my opinion I don't want to start a huge debate about this.
I was talking to a guy who started losing his hair at 19 and still has hair now at 35 years old granted he's like a NW3-NW3.5 with minor thinning he still has his hair.
I'm just wondering what people think of this because in my opinion worry can also cause hairloss, I appreciate that if both sides of your family went bald at a young age then the chances are so will you.
I see a lot of young guys on here who have pretty much perfect hair saying that their mothers and fathers side all have pretty much perfect hair in their 40s for example and I just feel that there's way too many people worrying about their hair when they're probably not even balding.
Just something to think about guys, the more you examine your hair the more paranoid you're going to become.
Edit: this was originally meant to be a question of your guy's opinions on genetics/hair loss as a whole and I just ended up rambling on about my opinion haha sorry about that guys.
And again I don't want to get into a whole debate about whether treatments work or not, for someone who is balding aggressively I agree it's probably the best option, but not for someone who is slightly receding because that's completely natural. I mean just look at Harry Styles for example in 2013 I was reading about how he is apparently going bald and here we are 3 years later and his hair has never looked better.
