Question about 5ar inhibition

One thing I don't understand, maybe some of you science types can answer this for me: finasteride only inhibits type 2 5ar. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it primarily type 1 DHT that is found in the skin and sebaceous glands and hair follicles? So why is finasteride so effective at stopping/slowing hairloss???

Cheers.

I think 25AR is primarily found in follicles, but that doesn't matter. It's DHT that is the culprit. You can have 1 molecule of 5AR in your scalp and still lose your hair if your body's level of DHT is high enough to be a factor.
