I'm looking to save some money and buy some quality genuine Propecia online. I've read through the latest posts asking similar questions, but there are so many options so I figured I would specify exactly what I'm looking for.

How can I tell the difference between generic and genuine? I don't want ripped off. Thanks in advance!

*edit* I guess I'm not exactly opposed to generic Propecia, as long as I got it prescribed from my doctor, and I didn't order it online. Does anybody know how much this type of generic Propecia usually costs? I'd like to compare it to genuine Propecia online.

You can't buy generic propecia in the U.S. The only companies that manufacture it are abroad due to patent laws. You can, as many people on this board to, buy generic online from companies in India such as Cipla.

Alright, I guess I'm just looking for genuine propecia online then. Thanks for the help.

*edit* I'm also looking at the option of Proscar. If someone could point me in that direction as well I would greatly appreciate it.

I would really recommend getting a legit prescription from your doctor and getting your pills from a real pharmacy. I bought 'real' propecia (New Zealand packaging) from United Pharmacies, but really questioned whether they were real or fake. They looked exactly like pictures of propecia pills I found online - even the box looked 100% legit. I found the propecia lettering on one side of the pills to be in various orientations relative to the P logo on the other side. I also found some weird fibers stuck to my pills. Even if they look real you can never be certain.
I didn't have a family doctor so I just looked one up online that was accepting new patients. He prescribed me Proscar without any hassle on the first visit which I'm currently cutting into fifths. 30 pills which will last me 5 months cost only $71 (here in Canada) which works out to just a little more than $14/month which is really cheap. Hope this helps :)

That sounds awesome. Oh and I already went to the doctor and everything, but she said she would only prescribe me Propecia. As of right now, I can't be spending $80 for 30 pills. Is there somewhere I can find one of these doctors, because that Proscar is definitely more in my price range haha..thanks for the input man.

I think it's just luck of the draw when it comes to doctors. I would try to find one that will write a script for Proscar because it is so much cheaper for the exact same thing - minus the minor inconvenience of cutting. My doctor told me that he has prescribed both Propecia and Proscar if the patient inquires about it. He said he has no problems prescribing Proscar because it's only the drug company that is losing out. Maybe you can post where you live on the forums and someone in your area can recommend a doctor?

update: I just got a check in the mail from my insurance company and they paid for my Merk Proscar! So this is basically a way to get finasteride for free with confidence that it is the real thing. Go see a doctor and get a legit prescription for Proscar. :)
