How many of you use prox-n, and how often? I've been using it every evening for a couple of months, but I was wondering if I should be using it twice a day. Can't handle minoxidil, and I'm a diffuse thinner. Any way,any input would help.

Proctor says once daily is enough....

note that prox-n is a growth stimulent only, therefore you'll need something like spironolactone, finasteride or revivogen to bump up your regime a bit.

I've used prox-n since October 06.... in conjunction with an array of other topicals....

it hasn't helped me

I've read about them - few and far between though....

There is plenty of science behind the product.......

Dr Proctor (the maker) says that results are comparable if not better than minoxidil (bearing in mind that minoxidil still only works for about 75% of guys).

As minoxidil is pretty cheap - it wouldn't hurt to use both growth stimulents at the same time. Proctor also says you can use them together.

I'm going to pose him the question of using minoxidil, apple poly and prox-n at the same time as all 3 are growth stimulents....

If you do decided to use Mino and Prox-n Just make sure that the minoxidil you're using does not contain retin-a as this will react with the ingredients in Prox-n and burn your scalp.

Here's the answer from the expert Dr Proctor himself - (copied and pasted from my email)... The Dr always seems to answer things in shorthand...

It seems I was slightly misinformed in regards to retin-a and prox-n having a reaction............. Proctor answers in bold

Hi Dr Proctor

Just had a few quick questions which I was hoping you could clarify.
I use prox-n and proxiphen daily and also use standard minoxidil.

Is it true that minoxidil containing retin-a will react with either prox-n or proxiphen as I would like to add this to my regime?

This is not true. Possibly somebody got confused by the fact that longer term, minoxidil destroys Retin-A. But applying them together is OK. I am not aware of any problem with using them with our products.

I was hoping to add one more growth stimulant in apple poly to my regime as well, do you foresee an issue with including this product as well and how would you recommend application of the aforementioned 3 topicals? i.e. how far apart etc.

Most likely, no problems. The order probably does not matter.

Dr Proctor

Davidoff - if you're getting sides from minoxidil and want growth stimulents -Prox-n, apple poly and even throw in some retin-a as your alternative.
