I bought the 5mg. proscar tabs and a pill cutter, my question is can I cut the pill in forths because its easier and take 1.25mg. a day would this be a safe dose or too much for a single dose per day?

The Propecia and Proscar doses (1 mg and 5 mg, respectively) are fairly arbitrary. I personally would have no worries about taking as much as...oh, I don't know...20 mg per day or so.
