proscar = propecia?

I understand they're both finasteride, but would there be any issues if I started w/ 3 months of propecia, then switched to proscar from then on?
Would it decrease effectiveness?

U answered your own question...

They are both the same...

Just make sure that when you make the switch you stay around the same dose. With Proscar you will be around 1.25 by cutting it up into 4s.
