proscar/propecia sideeffect

i've just started taking 1/2 a tablet of proscar every second day in accordance with doctors orders. however even after just one week i've already began to experience the side effect of much less sensation in my penis (it feels somewhat detached from my body)

if i discontinue use will the side effects subside completely considering i have only just started using it? i also saw something saying that side effects might subside even with continuation if the body adapts to it, is there any truth to this?

Results vary greatly. Some guys have no side effects, others have unpleasant side effects, some are transient, some seem to be permanent. I guess I was lucky: I've been taking 1/4 Proscar everyday for the last 12 years and I've had no relevant side effects (maybe just some minor loss of libido).

I have read that it's better to take it once every 24 hours rather than every other day. That would obviously mean a lower dosage which may help with the sides.
