Proscar Or Propecia ?

Hi Guyz,
I am new to this forum and just started to do some research to act on my thinning hairs. Which just started. After my initial research on the site i hv couple of questions.

1) What is differece between Propecia (Finestride) And Propecia by Merc, is it same thing ?

2) Is Proscar the same pil as propecia, and is of same effects as propecia ?

it's excactly the same... propecia comes in 1mg pills, proscar comes in 5mg... but you only need 1mg a day, so if you go with proscar, you need to divide the pills into 4 or 5....

So going with proscar saves some money ? while giving the same effect, Am i right ? Second what are different brands of Propecia ?

Propecia and Proscar are both brand names for the drug finasteride. Propecia comes in 1mg pills and is marketed to hair loss sufferers.
Proscar comes in 5mg pills and is marketed to people who suffer from BPH.
Since it's the same exact drug a lot of people buy Proscar and devide the pill into 4ths or 5ths to get the 1mg dosage to treat male pattern baldness, and save a lot of money doing it.

1 year of Propecia costs roughly $580.00
1 year of Proscar (cut into 4ths) costs roughly $240.00

That's the idea. But this has been a subject of debate for some time.

Second what are different brands of Propecia ?

In the US there are no other brands. The only way to get a generic brand is to buy it online and have it ship from another country.

Thanks a lot for helping out, in case i have to buy online, should i buy from some reputable store ? I hv seen great variation in prices on different e-stores, does this also reflects quality of pils they deliver ?

There are absolunaly no differenz with Proposcaia and Prscoar. The only differnens is mg dosiages. But finasteride and min are differenzes
