Proscar Legitimacy

I recently bought some Proscar from a pharmacy near in my home in Bangkok. I have been on Propecia for 4 months but am trying Proscar now to save some cash. I am a bit worried that the proscar I bought may not be legitimate. The main reason for this concern is that when I take the proscar I can taste it and it has absolutely no bitter flavor. I don't have any propecia to compare so if someone could tell me if their propecia or "western-bought" proscar has a bitter or neutral flavor, that would help me out a lot. I would hate to think that what I'm taking isn't doing me any good. This would be the first drug I've ever tasted that doesn't have some sort of nasty bitter flavor. By the way... I am tasting the powder on the inside and not the coating on the outside.

Thanks,
Melatonin

I take Merck Proscar bought in the US

I take mine chopped into 8ths and it has no bitter taste to me.

The main thing you want to check when buying proscar is to get it from a reputable pharmacy that buys from reputable labs. I've heard the Indian labs like Cipla and Dr. Reddy's are supposed to be good, but I cant vouch for this personally.

There is no way to be 100% sure, but you can be 99% sure if you follow these steps.

It's possible that Propecia and Proscar and their generics wouldn't taste the same. Yes, they both contain Finasteride but Proscar has 5x the amount, which leaves more filler in the 1mg tablets. Relative size of the 2 tabs is the same.

Seems reasonable to me.

I honestly don't know - I've never noticed or paid attention. I'll check later and report back.

Fincar = 5mg generic proscar from Cipla in India.
