Proscar and Pill Cutting

Got my Proscar in the mail today and tried cutting it into fourths with a pill cutter I bought, but I'm not sure I'm doing it right. It seems that some of the white residue comes out of the pill when I cut it and the four pieces aren't exactly the same size.

Could this be a problem?

get a pill cutter from your pharmacy, its easier :wink:

You lose a bit of the compound while cutting, sure, and the doses wont all be even. Still as you're taking 1.25mg a day instead of 1mg, there is enough overhead to lose a bit. And the law of averages applys to dosage, so uneven doseage is fine.

use a razor...the kind you put in box cutters etc...you can find them at your local hardware store. I use one and it works great.

yeah, use a straight edge razor. cuts right through it.
