Proscar - 5mg Cut Into 5ths ???? finasteride

I'm assuming this is ok to do?
Is Proscar as good as the original finasteride?
and is cutting 5mg pills into 1mg bad because the drug isnt equal or is this ok to do?

Should be, if you think you tolerate fina well you can cut it into fourths for 1.25 mg and some extra hair.

Seems like a lot of people split the 5mg, my Doctor offered to write my scipt that way too so I could save money.
