Proper way of applying the minoxidil

I'm applying the minoxidil by rubbing it into my scalp, not firmly though. I don't have a bold spot at the top of my head, but there is a place where the number of hairs is decreased. And here's the question:

can I destroy my hairs and/or especially new hairs (if there is a regrow) by rubbing my scalp and of course hairs (because they are there ;-) when applying the minoxidil? Or should I do it in some other way?

Good question. If you a rubbing the stuff in like you are trying to get a genie out of the bottle, you will lose more hair. You will know this when you have a sore scalp. If so, STOP!

You should be just massaging the stuff in, until it dissolves. I believe someone in this forum said, some like, "it's like rubbing a clitoris - gently until you hit it right!"

Anyway, don't apply too much in one go. It is easier that way.

I believe that rubbing minoxidil into the scalp doesn't do any good. All you need to do is apply minoxidil and use your fingers to spread it around without the rubbing part.

Well, spreading involves at least gentle rubbing. In my case, when there is still a lot of hairs in the place where I apply minoxidil, I have to use a little force to spread the substance on my skin. It's easy on my forehead where I spread minoxidil on my hairless skin at receding hairline, but at the top of my head it's not so easy to meander with my fingers between hairs.
