Propecia vs. Generic Finasteride

I have been on propecia for 6 weeks now. In the next two weeks I will be switching to generic finasteride 5 mg, taken over the course of a 4 day period, in roughly 1.25 mg daily dosages.

Is their any difference in effectiveness between propecia and generic finasteride? They are essentially the same thing, correct?

Is 1.25 mg a good dosage? I have noticed no side effects at the 6 week mark.

What would noticeable side effects be? I hope to meet with an endocrinologist to have more questions asked and to get some tests done so I have a more comprehensive baseline value.

alot of people on this site use gen finasteride at 1.25 dosage


as long as the drugs are legit
you should be fine

the chances of sides are practically the same with 1mg and 1.25 mg dosages
