i was on propecia for a year when the side effects started to become unbearable for me so i quit taking it. it has been two months now and i still have low libido and erectile problems. i never got the sudden rush of DHT coming back into my body and feeling great after a few weeks of qutting then a crash like most PFS sufferers. i haven't made any sort of recovery at all since quitting and i'm now starting to worry about it. i got blood tests taken just recently and will find out in 2 weeks time what my results are. anyone else on here able to make a full recovery after qutting? how long did it take you?

I never really truely crashed, I just declined while on treatment. I consider this my "crash". I also never experienced a surge of DHT or return to normalcy. I've been off 7 months and been following a recovery protocol(Cdnuts plan) from Propecia Help, and slowly I'm getting better and better. I'd say another 6 months at the most and I'll be firing on all cylinders again.

Don't read into the permanency and life ending stories you read online. Most of these people are still drinking everyday, eating sh*t food, and don't even exercise.....the body wants to heal itself, but you have to let it.

Unfortunately, the evidence suggests that it is extremely difficult to recover from PFS, and may be impossible for some. In the absence of aggressive intervention, you may never recover lucid thinking, strong libido, and strong erections.

The CDNuts protocol does seem to help people ... but be warned, it's difficult.

What is the Cdnuts protocol?

If you google "CDnuts propecia I'm cured" it will be the first link. It'll be the third or fourth post (I think) on the first page of that thread.

Just an FYI, for this to work you have to do it to the T. Not just part of it, not 75% of it. Make 100% of it your day to day life. And just like magic, as time goes by, your life slowly falls back into place. It won't be overnight, so stick to it for 6+ months and see how you feel then after knocking the protocol out of the park consistently. I have a good feeling you'll be pretty amazed.

How do you know that it has to be done 100%?

I guess technically I don't, but I'm sure there's a reason he listed each of the items. Pro hormones are optional but the rest are each part of a comprehensive cleanse and rebuild of your body, gut, and endocrine system. I guess I say that it has to be done 100% because I wouldn't want to do it 75% and waste my time. Probably just a personal preference.

Hi maxout I've been following you and some of the other guys over on swole source. Good luck with getting yourself back to normal after getting pfs.

From what you've learnt about this, once you have recovered can you go back to living a normal life like you did before? For example, after following a strict exercise and diet regime for a while can you go back to eating some bad foods and having alcohol or do you need to live by this regime forever or you will fall back into pfs?

Thanks

Thanks for the kind words.

Yes - you can life a normal life just like before. The regime is nothing more than giving your body EVERY chance in the world to heal itself. Time is really what does the healing in the end, but the other factors definitely contribute a lot. Basically your putting time on your side to bring you to recovery.

I'm not real sure why people would think you would "fall back into PFS" but yet this seems to be a frequently asked question even though CDnuts posted in the thread I referenced earlier saying he stopped all supplementation for months on end and noticed no regression and he drank again. The only reason you abstain from alcohol on this regime is because it's a powerful hormonal and neurosteroid modulator.....you don't want to mess with either while getting yourself back to equilibrium. Once your back, if you need a drink go for it.

Ok cheers man

I haven't seen those posts from cd. Or anyone else who had recovered and then said they were able to go back to before.

The guys I have read about over on solvepfs who have been on strict diets etc said as soon as they got lazy with it their Pfs came back. Maybe they didn't do it long enough or all the recovery aspects properly.

I have no problem being super strict for a year or two or however long it takes for me to be normal again.

But one of the things I love in life is eating different foods and socialising at bars etc. I would like to be able to do all that again once I've healed myself. And not have to watch every little thing I eat and drink.

You seem like an interesting guy. I hope you post more often.

just an update here. my doctor told me everything was fine with my blood tests and then gave me a prescription for v****. i still have low libido but sometimes i get morning wood. it fluctuates for me, about a week back my dick was rock hard and i felt a bit horny but then the next day im back to zero libido/no interest in sex. i've started taking zinc, maca, and l arginine to see if that helps it.

PM if you'd like to be connected to people in the PFS community. We have a Skype, Whatsapp and Discord group. There are also websites and other resources to help you try to recover.

What I've read, and I have not had time to look into it so as to be confident it's true, is that L-Citrulline is a better option than L-Arginine. The idea is that supposedly your digestive system converts Citrulline into Arganine anyway, so you end up with arginine further down the digestive cycle. In contrast, the same digestive system destroys most ingested argining further up the stomach/intestines.

I don't know if this is true or relevant. I've been meaning to look into it. I might try Citrulline supplementation.

I've taken maca too. Which one are you taking? I'm taking raw mixed maca from the maca team:

It's probably healthy, but it tastes really bad.

By the way, vitamin D3 supplementation is reported to increase testosterone if you are vitamin D3 deficient.

Please write back in a few weeks and let us know your progress.
