Propecia side effect??

Hey everyone, well the last 2 weeks have been rough on me, mentally and physically. Ive been on proscar 7 weeks. I have zero erection troubles or libido issues at least that i can tell. My hair is improving nicely. I am pretty surprised at how well its working so soon. BUT... Im having this odd pressure\sensation under my waist line and above the base of my penis. Also sometimes it leads to cramping in my lower stomach. My dr thought i had a uti and maybe i did, maybe i didnt. I say that because. Urine test showed bacteria, but the bacteria did not grow in the culture. ?? I took cipro(antibiotic) for 9 days also i had no trouble peeing, and only had slight burning maybe twice and it was mild, and once during ejaculation. No other uti symptoms. Sighs... I dont know what to do. Im prob a norwood 1.5 with fine hair, alot of total hair just super fine in texture, like each hair itself is very fine. Its been this way my whole life. I do not want to stop finasteride!! At all. But im getting very worried. Im thinking about switching to brand name Propecia and trying .5 mg a day and seeing if that helps this situation. I dont want to but my dr has not been much help and i dont know what to do. Has anyone been in a situation like this? Im not even sure Propecia is to blame for this, but i was fine before. My mind is totally focused on my pelvic area so to some degree im exacerbating the pain with my mind, but there is something there. It comes and goes so i know what it feels like when its normal. Sorry so long, please help guys if you can i dont know where else to turn. Also i have another dr app today in an hour

Hey man I also got what my doctor called prostate infection upon commencing my propecia regimen. I had trouble completely emptying my bladder. If I could suggest anything it would be move to .25mg a day for a week or 2 or just stop the drug for a week or 2. I don't think it's anything to be super worried about though man. Good luck on whatever you chose.

Ps: I haven't had an issue since that incident I just wrote about.

hey thanks for replying. I do want to try a lower dose but with proscar its hard of course to cut it down anymore. So you have had success reducing to .5 then? This sucks lol i dont want to messup the progress of my hair, but i dont want to risk my health. My dr i just saw, not my Propecia dr. Said she wont write the script for Propecia until i stop the proscar for 2 weeks to see if the pain\pressure goes away. Then she ll write it. Dr haber prescribed my original proscar script and he s way in Cleveland. Im scared to just totally stop for 2 weeks. I dont want some kind of shed! Thanks for taking the time to reply man

I had the same side effect, it went away after about two months.

Hey guys.. I had almost the same symptoms coming and going, I was diagnosed with prostate infection. I'm still on antibiotics (prescribed for 6 weeks), but I also had a little trouble to pee. Now, it all seemed to have resolved.

Note that I had that just after having stopped finasteride. Not sure if it was related though, because I started feeling the symptoms a couple of days after quitting the drug. I don't think it would be possible, since the drug stays a while in the system..

Geez What's with this crap 2% side effects my ***. I didn't take my proscar dose yesterday and the pain\pressure is lessening. Now im not anti Propecia but this is bullsh*t . I think im probably done with proscar and im gonna . 25 Propecia after this pain is gone. My hair isnt gonna go crazy in a week or two off finasteride will it? This just plain sucks! And if i couldn't get an erection on top this, you can bet id be leading the charge on Propecia help! What's the real deal merck?
