Hey guys, if finasteride (and dutasteride for that matter) causes permenant shedding in some people, why wasn't hairloss listed as a side effect in the clinical trials for finasteride/dutasteride while they were being tested for treatment of BPH? If these drugs cause hair LOSS, wouldn't that have been documented in their clinical trials for prostate treatment?

I don't think there is such thing as a "shed" on a DHT inhibitor..

the only thing that causes sheds is minoxidil.

Finasteride cannot cause a permanent shed, only a temporary one (unless its use is discontinued).
Remember using finasteride for treatment of BPH is usually in patients over 60 years of age, and probably already suffering some degree of hair loss and most probably a Norwood 6+.

He is probably implying that it is not a shed on finasteride rather it is permanent loss.
