After you took your 1st pill of propecia on day 1, how soon did you start shedding? 1 day later, 1 week later?, 1 month?

Shedding isn't a side effect of propecia. So yes it's ok.

Minoxidil causes shedding, and usually after 2 to 4 weeks in to the treatment. It should subside within 1 to 2 months.

Excuse me? Dude, how can you post 1600+ messages and not realize that of course propecia causes sheds!? Perhaps you mistyped and meant 'isn't a side effect for everybody'.. :winky:

I don't think I really had a shedding period either. I've been on propecia since Sept 1, and Rogaine since Dec 1, and no shed from either. But I am judging from the pillow and drain counts. Maybe I am losing hair elsewhere, at work or at the gym. But I don't think so.

Shedmaster, I know the posts from this site suggest that propecia sheds are common, but I read on several sites that only 1/10 really have sheds, and that most of these recover what they've lost. The sites say that shedding is usually a good sign that hairs are about to come up, but that a lack of shed does not mean the drug is not working. That's just what I read.

Good luck to all.

I never shed from Propecia either. Not from minoxidil,as well. I have no hair falling out no matter how much I rub my head. That wasnt the story 4 months ago.

Good Luck.
